The Energy Management course highlights the growing importance of building automation in achieving energy efficiency, especially in response to evolving environmental and regulatory requirements. In this course, KNX partners are introduced to a variety of KNX-based strategies and tools designed for effective energy management. These include methods for visualizing energy consumption to raise user awareness and the integration of smart meters to enable advanced features such as load management.
To attend the KNX Energy Management course, the student shall have successfully completed the KNX Basic course.
Course format
The theoretical and practical parts of the KNX Energy Management course shall be organized face-to-face (F2F).
Practical training shall be carried out using KNX training rigs that meet the applicable KNX Energy Management course equipment requirements.
Course content
The following topics shall be covered during the KNX Energy Management course:

All topics included in the official KNX Energy Management course documentation shall be covered within the required course duration.
Course requirements
The following requirements apply:
- The total course duration, including the theoretical exam, shall be at least 13 hours.
- The student shall have successfully completed the KNX Basic course before attending the KNX Energy Management course.
- The theoretical and practical parts shall be taught by a KNX certified tutor.
- At least 50% of the total course duration shall consist of practical training.
- During practical training, at least one KNX certified tutor shall be available for every 16 students.
- The practical training shall be carried out using KNX training rigs that meet the applicable KNX Energy Management course equipment requirements.

Exam
The KNX Energy Management course includes a theoretical exam.
The theoretical exam shall be organized face-to-face.
The student shall achieve at least 50% of the marks in the theoretical exam to successfully complete the course.

Certificate
After successfully completing the course and passing the theoretical exam, the student receives the official KNX Energy Management course certificate.
The certificate issued for this course type shall comply with the applicable KNX certificate template.
