The KNX Tutor course is intended for KNX professionals who want to become a KNX certified tutor, either to teach at an existing KNX certified training centre or to establish a KNX certified training centre themselves.
To attend the KNX Tutor course, the student shall have successfully completed the KNX Advanced course.
Course format
The KNX Tutor course is a theoretical course and may be organized face-to-face (F2F) or online.
Course content
The following topics shall be covered during the KNX Tutor course:

All topics included in the official KNX Tutor course documentation shall be covered within the required course duration.
Course requirements
The following requirements apply:
- The total course duration, including the theoretical exam, shall be at least 18 hours.
- The student shall have successfully completed the KNX Advanced course before attending the KNX Tutor course.
- It is recommended that the KNX Advanced qualification was obtained no more than two years before attending the KNX Tutor course.
- The course shall be taught by a KNX certified tutor who achieved at least 80% overall in the KNX Tutor exam.
- The official KNX Tutor course documentation shall be provided to students at least two weeks before the start of the course.
Exam
The KNX Tutor course includes a theoretical exam, which may be organized face-to-face or online.
When the theoretical exam is organized online:
- the tutor candidate shall keep their camera switched on throughout the exam, without using a virtual background; and
- the KNX certified tutor acting as examiner shall remain at their computer throughout the exam and shall be able to monitor the candidate via camera.
The student shall achieve at least 60% of the marks in the theoretical exam to successfully complete the course.

Certificate
After successfully completing the course and passing the theoretical exam, the student receives the official KNX Tutor course certificate and becomes a KNX certified tutor.
The certificate issued for this course type shall comply with the applicable KNX certificate template.
Important note
The KNX Tutor course focuses on KNX-specific technical and organizational knowledge. The course does not include pedagogical or didactical training or marketing-related training.
