ETS provides a main toolbar (1), which can be used nearly anywhere and also includes a contextual part, which shows specific actions based on the selected panel. Moreover, there is a breadcrumb navigation (2), which allows to navigate to the shown elements without using the tree view.
Main toolbar (1)
The main toolbar contains the following standard functions:

Undo |
Undo action. Configuration of the maximum undo steps can be defined in the 'Settings'. If this number is reached and there are further entries, the oldest entry is always overwritten. This function is a local function. The stored work steps can only be undone as long as a project in the actual ETS-session is opened. As soon as it is closed, all modifications will be consolidated. |
Panels | Allows to open a new panel and rearrange the open panels |
Connection manager | Opens the connection manager (default selection 'Automatic') |
Project details | Opens the project details of the currently opened project |
Help | Opens the online help centre |
Logged in user avatar |
Shows the avatar of the logged in user. In case the user has not logged in the Windows username is shown. |

Opens the diagnostics options |
Close Project | Closes the currently open project |
It's not possible to change the appearance of the main toolbar.
Context toolbar
The context toolbar is part of the main toolbar and the features shown in it depend on the currently selected item.

- The search option and a symbol for activating the search function can be found on the right-hand side of context toolbars in List views.
Breadcrumb navigation (1)
The breadcrumb navigation shows the entire path of the selected element in the tree view. Clicking an element from this navigation shows the content of the element in the detail view of the currently active panel.
